What Do I Want?

What do I want?

This is a question I ask myself about 30 times a day…

It’s a check-in. It’s my mind asking my body what it wants. It’s my body asking my heart what it wants. It’s my stomach asking my taste buds what I want…

“What you want leads you to what you need.”

When you don’t know what you want, you get disconnected from yourself. Disconnected to who you are, why you are here, and how you can be at your best.

I start each morning with what my body needs… to get out of my sleep zone and into my action mode I have a quick meeting with my body. She might tell me she needs fresh air or a roll on the floor or a cold shower.

I then move to how I want to feel - getting dressed is about achieving an outcome. Some days I want to feel pretty, some days I want to feel soft, and some days I want to feel structured and organised.

My wariness doesn’t have a theme.. it is a collection of feelings and possibilities! All of the colours, shapes and fabrics give me a feeling.

I then move to food. What does my body want? Rather than an autopilot response of breakfast being the same each day, I think about what my body needs. Is it lacking greens? Does it want something warm and cooked or cold and raw?

Even our coffee orders have become automated responses. Before, we have thought about what we want our voices have done an automated reply… next time someone offers you a hot drink consider what you feel like? Do you want something soft and foamy? Do you want a hot and bold long black? Do you want a refreshing tea?

When we connect to ourselves, we find we have all the answers.

Whenever you say ‘I don’t know’ - imagine that you do!when people tell me that their answer to something is ‘I don’t know’ I reply with “What if you did know?!” They usually then respond with an answer.

You do know. You just haven’t checked in to find out!!
